Chapter 14 Thunder Method
Chapter 14 Thunder Method
....
Internal Affairs Hall
The two elders earnestly advised Chen Hongxian:
"Red Thread, it's not that your great-grandfather doesn't want you to learn magic, but you're starting too early. Cultivating immortality is about defying fate; cultivation level is fundamental, magic is merely a means of protection. Your priority right now should be to reach the peak of Qi Refining and then Foundation Establishment. How can you waste time on cultivating magic? Isn't that putting the cart before the horse?"
The Qi Refining Family lacks resources and cannot have both.
The fundamental task is to focus all efforts on building a solid foundation.
Only disciples whose progress shows no hope of reaching the Foundation Establishment stage will be allowed by the clan to cultivate combat magic or other immortal arts based on their individual strengths.
Hongxian knew the three elders were right, but it wasn't for her own benefit, so she could only whine, "But I really want to learn!"
"You're only at the fifth level of Qi Refining, how much power could you possibly gain from learning this? It's only those members of our clan who have no hope of reaching the Foundation Establishment stage who learn magic ahead of time, but that's also for the benefit of the clan."
"Second Elder, Second Great-Grandfather, I beg you, I promise I won't let it interfere with my cultivation! Please, I'll only choose one book!"
Unable to withstand Chen Hongxian's persistent nagging, the two elders sighed helplessly and had no choice but to take her to the library.
Chen Hongxian stared wide-eyed, looking around.
The second elder led her directly to a bookshelf and pulled out a scroll of silk.
"This technique is called Spring Rain Nourishing Crops. It can help you understand the principle of water nourishing wood. It matches your cultivation method and is one of the most suitable spells for you."
Chen Hongxian paid no attention to the introduction by the two clan elders, her mind only focused on the task her brother had assigned her.
That means prioritizing lightning spells. If there are no lightning spells available, then pick the most powerful ones. If you can't get other attributes, water or wood are fine too.
But she searched for a long time and couldn't find any lightning magic.
So, tilting his little head, he asked, "Great-Grandpa, is there no thunder magic here?"
The second elder was stunned: "Why are you looking for lightning magic? Your attributes aren't compatible, and the power you cultivate will be weak. If you really want to learn a fighting technique, you should learn this Wooden Needle Technique. It's hard to be detected when fighting, and it's a great tool for ambushing people!"
Chen Hongxian shook her little head vigorously, indicating that she just wanted to see what thunder magic was like.
"I don't want to learn this. I want to try lightning magic. If I can't learn it, I'll just wait until I reach Foundation Establishment before learning spells, okay?"
The second clan elder originally wanted to tell Hongxian why water and wood spiritual roots were not suitable for learning thunder magic, but upon hearing the second half of his words, his eyes lit up instantly.
Not having a lightning spiritual root doesn't mean you can't learn lightning spells, but lightning spells require the use of lightning spiritual energy!
Only when one reaches the Nascent Soul stage and can command the spiritual energy of heaven and earth at will, will one not be constrained by spiritual roots.
Therefore, the two clan elders thought it would be fine to give Chen Hongxian a book on thunder magic. Since the child was not settled and could not learn it, they would give up.
Perhaps from now on I can focus on cultivation and achieve Foundation Establishment as soon as possible.
Without hesitation, he took a scroll of spells from the shelf on the other side.
"This is the thunder magic practiced by our ancestor Shoubai, and it is the only thunder magic in the clan."
"It took our ancestors of Lingbai a great deal of effort to obtain even this small fragment of the scroll. Take it and have a look!"
Chen Hongxian was overjoyed and quickly took it, hurriedly thanked him, and left the library.
The second elder looked at the red line bouncing along the way and shook his head indulgently.
...
"Brother! I'm back! Look what this is!"
Chen Hongxian shook a roll of something in his hand with a smug look on his face.
Chen Chunan's eyes lit up: "You got it? Is it the Thunder Law?"
Hongxian said smugly, "Of course! I begged the Second Elder for ages!"
Chen Chunan quickly praised, "Hongxian is really capable; she easily solved a big problem for me!"
Chen Chunan, who had initially thought it inappropriate for his sister to ask for the Thunder Technique now, felt increasingly compelled to subdue the monkey as soon as possible after his supernatural powers were stolen by the Mind Monkey last time.
However, the method of internal alchemy to mobilize the five qi to form the five thunders has been difficult to understand for a long time.
Left with no other option, they had to resort to learning thunder magic from within their own clan.
However, I'm currently only at the third level of Qi Refining on the surface, which...
So Chen Chunan had no choice but to continue "sucking up to girls".
That's why Chen Hongxian went to get a copy of the Thunder Method.
However, the fact that she got it so easily made Chen Chunan praise his sister profusely.
Hongxian's eyes narrowed with joy when her brother praised her: "I'm so happy to be able to help you, brother."
Chen Chunan took the Lei Fa and examined it closely.
This scroll of thunder magic is called Yi Wood Divine Thunder, which is quite a grand name.
The effect was quite crude, probably because it was deduced from the fragments on its own and the person making the deduction had a low cultivation level.
It simply absorbs the Yin energy of Yi Wood and draws upon the spiritual energy of thunder, making it as sharp as a thorn.
This is a very insidious dual-elemental spell of lightning and wood.
Chen Chunan has no lightning spiritual energy, but he has plenty of wood spiritual energy.
However, after two days of gathering Yin and Yang Qi and practicing the Seven Returns and Nine Reversions to cultivate a bit of pure Yang, all five Qi in my body were tainted with a bit of pure Yang.
Currently, I have a lot of Yang energy (甲木) in my body, but very little Yin energy (乙木).
Moreover, he couldn't sense the lightning spirit energy at all.
This first step in cultivation was thwarted.
It seems that I still need to master the thunder magic of the Five Qi first.
Chen Chunan silently put down the tattered scroll in his hand.
Chen Hongxian watched as her brother put the book down after only a few glances, and her little face immediately became anxious: "Brother, can't the Thunder Magic be repaired?"
"It can't be repaired for the time being, or rather, it's very difficult to even begin without a lightning spiritual root."
Chen Chunan shook his head.
Hongxian was puzzled: "Then why do you still want it? I told you before that the clan school taught that you can only cultivate techniques that already have spiritual root attributes, but you didn't believe me."
Chen Chunan thought to himself: "Taking Kan to fill Li, it originates from Zhen, and Xun is only bright. Just because I can't repair it now doesn't mean I can't repair it in the future."
Once I figure out the method of using the Five Elements to generate thunder, I might be able to cultivate the Divine Thunder of Wood.
"What you just said is that it can't be repaired for the time being. Maybe it will be possible to repair it when your cultivation level is higher."
"Oh, okay."
...
Three months have passed in the blink of an eye.
The time has come to the ninth day of the eleventh lunar month.
Chen Chunan celebrated his fifteenth birthday in this world.
After three months of cultivation, Chen Chunan's Qi Refining cultivation steadily advanced to the sixth level.
The cultivation of internal alchemy, which involves refining essence into qi, allowed the originally tiny pure yang golden elixir to grow to the size of a soybean.
This can be considered as significant progress.
Lei Fa Shang Chen Chunan has also begun to grasp the basics.
However, since his method differed from that of the original author, Chen Chunan dared not follow that method to refine the magic, as the original author did not possess lightning magic.
And the Thunder Magic of this world truly exists.
When Chen Chunan was refining the Elixir of Rejuvenation by taking the Kan-Li Seven Returns and Nine Reversions, he had a vague feeling when Kan and Li converged at Zhen for the first time.
After three months of cultivation, his elixir has grown stronger, and he has also gained some understanding of how to circulate the five energies to create thunder.
Although I have never read any Taoist books about thunder magic.
However, I had some understanding of the Shinsho faction when I read one person's comic.
Chen Chunan remembered that the main deity worshipped by the Shenxiao Sect was the Antarctic Longevity Emperor and the Jade Purity True King, the son of the Primordial Heavenly Venerable of the Floating Dawn.
And the Jade Pure True King gave birth to the Nine Heavens Responding to the Primordial Thunder Sound Universal Transformation Heavenly Venerable.
One of the thunder magic techniques he practiced was called Jade Pivot Divine Thunder.
In Taoism, many images have similar meanings. Jade is the perfect combination of water and fire, which is actually the pure yang elixir (returning elixir) cultivated by Chen Chunan.
The pivot is the mechanism, the axis, and the origin of life and death.
Jade Pivot is the life-and-death energy generated during the movement of Yin and Yang.
Chen Chunan interpreted this to mean that the so-called Jade Pivot Divine Thunder was not naturally occurring lightning, but rather the life-and-death energy generated by the movement and friction of Yin and Yang energies at the time of the birth of the Elixir.
When these elements are condensed together, they become "thunder".
Each time Chen Chunan takes Kan to fill Li and achieves the balance of water and fire, he is merging and converging Yin and Yang Qi to finally give birth to a bit of pure Yang Qi.
At the same time, many Qi underwent annihilation reactions, and a significant amount of it dissipated.
Chen Chunan had tried to gather the scattered Qi over the past two days, but he was unable to form a thunder technique.
Since the lightning magic of the spiritual world cannot be cultivated now, I can only continue to think deeply about how to practice lightning magic.
When cultivating the Elixir of Immortality, the Qi of Kan Yang and Lung Yin are combined in the Zhen position.
How is the Zhen trigram drawn again?
The Book of Changes states:
The hexagram Zhen (震) signifies success. A thunderous tremor comes, accompanied by cheerful, muffled laughter. The shock extends for miles, yet no weapons are lost.
The yang line is called nine, and its line changes to the first nine, the second nine, the third nine, the fourth nine, the fifth nine, and the sixth nine. The sixth nine is the extreme of yang.
Yin lines are called "six": Initial Six, Six Two, Six Three, Six Four, Six Five, and Top Six. Top Six is the extreme of Yin.
The first line of the Zhen hexagram from bottom to top is a yang line, the first nine: "The thunder comes with a trembling sound, then laughs and speaks softly, auspicious."
In the lunar calendar, the ninth day of the ninth month or the twenty-ninth day of each month is often called the "Upper Nine".
The first nine is the first change of the yang line, which should be the qi of the lesser yin lung qi within the yang.
The second line is a yin line, line 62: Thunder comes with danger, a hundred million shells are lost, one climbs up to the Nine Hills, do not pursue, one will be found in seven days.
The second line is the initial change of the yin line, and the yin energy is not yet abundant. It is the lesser yang liver wood energy within the yin.
The third line, line 63: Zhen (震) is calm and steady; Zhen (震) moves without misfortune.
The hexagram changes from line 62 to line 63, where the liver wood qi gradually transforms into the kidney yin qi.
The fourth line, line 94: Zhen (震) followed by mud.
The Yang Qi rises to the halfway point, and is in the stage of about to enter the Old Yang but has not yet entered.
Yang energy rises, but it cannot reach its peak because Yin energy is even stronger.
The fifth line, line 65: Thunder comes and goes with danger, but the will is not lost, and something will happen.
The sixth line, top six: Thunder rumbles, eyes widen in shock; an expedition brings misfortune. The thunder does not strike oneself, but one's neighbor; there is no blame. There are words regarding marriage.
Two becomes three, three becomes five, five becomes six, and Yin Qi reaches its peak.
So, if the kidney water draws the qi of the liver wood and the qi of the lung metal to converge at the Zhen position, then it can produce thunder magic, right?
At the same time, the Jade Pivot is the essence of Yin and Yang, which requires the pure Yang innate Qi as a guide.
