Chapter 172: One Day of Enlightenment
Chapter 172: One Day of Enlightenment
The Mind Monkey escaped the Heavenly Fox Realm, and the Heavenly Fox immediately sensed it.
She saw a monkey break free from the strange man.
He immediately realized that when he removed the two strange things that had appeared on Chen Chunan's body, he had been tricked by this monkey.
Her expression immediately changed.
"What a wicked monkey! No wonder that strange man suddenly became so powerful when I was about to get rid of him! It turns out it was you who was causing trouble!"
Tianhu flashed to Chen Chunan's side, who was lying unconscious with his eyes closed.
next moment
A hazy spiritual light emanated from Chen Chunan's body.
The sounds of Buddhist chants and meditations resounded from all directions.
However, the Mind Monkey had already fed Chen Chunan the Seven Treasures Pill.
at this time
The mind monkey, still outside, glanced at the five remaining Seven Treasures Pills in Chen Chunan's storage ring, and with a quick thought, took two of them.
"Hehe, you brought so many Seven Treasure Pills, but in the end I'll have to serve you the pills. I think you should just put two on me, Old Sun! You might need them next time."
Having found a reason to justify himself, the restless monkey felt at ease keeping the two Seven Treasures Pills for himself.
Then he started to worry again.
The *Primordial Wisdom Correct View and Liberation Sutra* states: "Afflictions are collectively called the Three Poisons. Greed, anger, and ignorance can harm the Dharma, body, and life of sentient beings, hence they are called poisons."
It is also said: "The term 'greed' refers to insatiable desire, attachment, and endless craving. It means having a desire for pleasure in both worldly and otherworldly matters."
The anger mentioned refers to the greed and resentment one harbors towards both sentient beings and non-sentient beings, roaring and raging like a blazing fire, burning away good roots and creating great resentment. This is called anger.
Those who are called foolish do not believe in or know the true Dharma of the Three Jewels. They are arrogant and flattering, ignorant, like a bottomless pit, unwilling to listen to criticism, and their words are of no use. They do many evil deeds, and their actions are contrary to the Way; therefore, they are called foolish.
The Buddha said: Diligently cultivate morality, concentration, and wisdom, and extinguish greed, anger, and ignorance.
However, anger is the most difficult of the three poisons to eradicate.
Of all the stories of gods and immortals in the past, how many of them truly managed to extinguish greed, anger, and ignorance? In the end, it is only human nature that is at play.
Although this medicine is the right treatment, the anger poison came on particularly fiercely this time. Hopefully, it can suppress it a little!
Unfortunately, I have little knowledge of the Heart Sutra, otherwise suppressing it would not have been difficult.
"Alright, Dan has already taken the medicine. I'll go check on the main body first!"
The restless mind stirred.
They reappeared within the territory of the Celestial Fox.
But as soon as he arrived, he saw the celestial fox with an unfriendly look in its eyes.
"Hey! How did I, Old Sun, suddenly end up in this place?"
The Heavenly Fox looked at the Heart Monkey with a forced smile: "You think I wouldn't recognize you just because you've changed your appearance?"
"Fellow Daoist, let me explain my excuses~"
"quibble?"
"Uh, I mean, explain! Explain!"
...
Chen Chunan had already taken the Seven Treasures Pill at this time.
The true spirit gives rise to precepts, concentration, and wisdom.
Regarding precepts, concentration, and wisdom, the Sixth Patriarch once said:
The mind is nothing but the precepts of one's own nature.
A mind free from ignorance is inherently wise.
A tranquil mind leads to a stable nature.
Neither increasing nor decreasing, it is like a diamond.
The essence of going and coming is the same.
Although Chen Chunan acted out of anger this time, with all sorts of distracting thoughts arising, how could he be free from greed and delusion?
The Seven Treasures Pill, such a miraculous elixir, was indeed a perfect remedy for Chen Chunan's symptoms.
The elixir entered his stomach and instantly transformed into rays of spiritual light that entered Chen Chunan's true spirit, who was still in the Heavenly Fox Realm.
With the help of this medicine, Chen Chunan's damaged true nature slowly recovered.
The ignorant mind gradually became clear.
All the memories of the past surfaced in Chen Chunan's mind.
half an hour later
Chen Chunan slowly opened his eyes: "Hiss~ It really feels like a dream! This time, we almost completely messed up!"
After making a sigh.
Chen Chunan began to silently recite the "Taishang Laojun Shuo Chang Qingjing Jing" to calm the chaos of anger and poison.
In an instant, the hazy spiritual light above his true spirit shone brightly, and the Wood Qi within Chen Chunan's body was stimulated, instantly transforming into a blazing sun.
When the dark energy of anger encounters the energy of wood virtue, it is like snow being slowly but steadily worn away and melted away by the blazing sun.
Finally, it turned into wisps of black smoke and slowly dissipated.
The anger transformed into a black tiger, which roared unwillingly before slowly fading away, waiting for the next opportunity to rise again.
After suppressing his anger, Mu De transformed into a deity wearing a star-studded crown, red shoes, and a seven-jeweled sword and a white jade ring at his waist.
After bowing respectfully to Chen Chunan from afar, He entered Chen Chunan's heart and disappeared.
Chen Chunan realized that by suppressing his anger this time, his Wood element had greatly improved, and he now possessed the ability to manifest.
This will give me another means of dealing with things in the future.
Thinking of this, Chen Chunan's lips curled up slightly.
He then opened his eyes and slowly got up.
Before Chen Chunan could speak, Xin Yuan asked first, "The anger has been eliminated? So quickly?"
When Chen Chunan heard the question from the Mind Monkey, he shook his head: "It can't be said that it has been eliminated, but it has been temporarily suppressed. However, I have indeed gained a lot this time. I just don't know where the power came from, but it made my heart at peace and made me realize the true meaning of 'nothingness without light, nor the exhaustion of light'."
The monkey's eyes darted around, and he immediately said, "Hey! I, Old Sun, tried to save you by reciting the Heart Sutra, but to no avail. I had no choice but to go back and get the Seven Treasures Pill from your storage ring. I gave you three pills at once, as a last resort. Unexpectedly, it really worked wonders."
Chen Chunan was unaware that the monkeys had lied about their numbers, but regarding this crisis...
He felt it would be worth it even if he fed the whole baby.
He immediately waved his hand and said, "This is alright. I didn't expect this monk to have so many good things. I'll go and exchange some more next time. The more of these divine pills we have, the better!"
Xin Yuan chuckled: "That's true. Master Mingxing seems to be quite fond of me now. I'll get you some more pills! Isn't Qian Qianqian from the Wanfang Chamber of Commerce trying to win you over? This is a good opportunity to have her lend a hand and help find the materials."
Xin Yuan was serious about what he said; he had never imagined that the Seven Treasures Pill would be so powerful.
It would be truly foolish not to stock up on a few before the price goes up, just in case!
Having made his plan, Xin Yuan looked at Chen Chunan and said, "My lord, you've regained your senses. Are you still going to put on this act about the Yellow Wind Ridge or not?"
Chen Chunan looked at Lingji, who was sitting cross-legged in the distance, his staff resting on his lap, chanting the Heart Sutra.
With a thought, Lingji instantly disappeared into his body.
The Flying Dragon Staff also fell into Chen Chunan's hands.
Chen Chunan slowly examined the dragon pattern on the monk's staff, then spoke:
"The Dingfeng Dan (定风丹) means that when one's mind is clear and free from evil influences, the Feilong Chanzhang (飞龙禅杖) means that one is decisive and free from delusions."
This was previously caused by my self-imposed limitations on the numerous trials and tribulations of the Golden Elixir Path, and my lack of resolute determination in seeking the Dao.
Now my state of mind has reached the highest level, which signifies: "The flying dragon soars into the sky, and it is advantageous to see a great man."
Having already reached this stage, with the Great Elixir right before my eyes, what more could I possibly ask for?
This is not something that can be intentionally gathered by nature.
Once I find the true soil, the elixir can be completed. From then on, the Five Elements and Four Symbols will be complete. After a few more additions and subtractions to the inner elixir, the transformation into the Great Elixir will be within reach!
After Chen Chunan finished speaking, he looked intently at Xin Yuan.
The transformation of the Great Elixir is the process of entering the "Guai" hexagram from the "Qian" hexagram.
At that time, a fertilized fetus will be needed.
Previously, Chen Chunan had sensed that the opportunity to conceive the sacred fetus lay with the monkey.
At this moment, his eyes were gleaming, as he wanted to see how the monkey would react to these words.
