Chapter 343: Dominique’s Resolve
Chapter 343: Dominique’s Resolve
Miguel had just come out of his room when Sabrina and Vladimir approached him.
"Why are you still here?" Miguel asked, arching his eyebrow.
"Don Miguel, I would like to know what happened to Dominique. What triggered him to lose control? He almost killed someone..."
Sabrina looked at him expectantly. She was dying to know the reason why Dominique didn’t hesitate to kill the leader of the kidnappers.
Miguel sat down quietly. He didn’t respond to Sabrina’s question.
"I heard you and Vladimir are planning to get married."
Vladimir and Sabrina exchanged glances with one another.
"Yes. We are getting married. We are just waiting for Dominique to sign their divorce agreement," Vladimir replied.
"Oh, really, then why is your bride-to-be still concerned about another guy?" Miguel’s tone was filled with sarcasm.
Sabrina was at a loss for words while Vladimir clenched his fists in irritation. His father truly knew how to rub salt in his wound.
"What are you trying to say? Besides, Dominique is still Aaron’s father. We are not heartless not to care about him. We are also curious because the person involved here is Sabrina’s kidnapper," Vladimir retorted.
Sabrina lowered her gaze, avoiding Miguel’s scrutinizing gaze.
"Fine. I’ll tell you what I know. That man has something to do with Dominique’s past."
Her eyes widened upon hearing that, her face turning pale. ’Dominique’s past? Is he referring to the murder of Dominique’s family? Is this man related to my father?’
"Did this man mention my father?" Sabrina asked Miguel.
Miguel nodded. "Yes. He mentioned your father, Albert Williams."
When those words sank in, Sabrina instinctively grabbed Miguel’s hands. "Don Miguel, please allow me to see that guy! I want to ask him about my father!"
Miguel narrowed his eyes, yanking his hands away from Sabrina. "Seriously?! Haven’t you seen what happened to that man? We don’t even know if he can survive today after being stabbed by Dominique multiple times. How can you ask him about your father? He is hanging between life and death right now."
"Please, Don Miguel, save that man! I need to ask him about my father!" She begged him desperately.
If that man had something to do with the death of Dominique’s family, then Sabrina wanted to hear from him why her father committed that crime.
"Sab, calm down..." Vladimir held her shoulders.
She could only lean on him as she tried to hold back her tears. "V... This man is the only person connected to my father... I want to know why my father murdered Dominique’s family."
Miguel fell silent, staring at Sabrina with an unreadable expression.
’So this woman knows what happened to Dominique’s family. However, she believed that her father was the mastermind. Today, Dominique had just discovered the truth. Her father was innocent. Her uncle impersonated her father when he committed the crime. Should I tell her the truth?’ Miguel contemplated for a moment.
After careful consideration, Miguel had made up his mind. ’I can’t tell her. It’s not for me to decide whether to reveal this or not. Dominique is already suffering after learning the truth. I have to keep this from this woman. I will let Dominique handle this.’
"Just go home. If ever the man survives, I’ll just update Vladimir," Miguel said, dismissing them.
"Let’s go, Sabrina. Aaron might be waiting for you." Vladimir tapped her back tenderly.
She could only nod in agreement, even though part of her was reluctant to leave.
Vladimir guided her as they stepped out of Miguel’s hideout. Her mind was still preoccupied by Dominique.
’Dominique hadn’t forgiven those people who murdered his family. So... seeing me will only remind him of my father’s crime. How can he still treat me kindly after everything? How could he still love me?’ Sabrina slammed her eyes shut as she leaned on the passenger seat.

A few hours later...
Dominique had finally woken up. He slowly sat up, leaning his back on the headboard of the bed. He stared at the wall absentmindedly, still thinking about the shocking revelation he had just learned earlier.
He couldn’t help but reminisce about his last conversation with Albert Williams.
*Flashback*
"Dom, I know I’m dying. I’m leaving my daughter in your care," Albert uttered in his weak voice. With his frail body, he reached out, holding Dominique’s hand.
Dominique stood still, keeping his silence. He had the urge to pull his hand away from Albert’s grasp, but he couldn’t. Despite his anger and resentment toward that sick man, he still pretended to be a good son-in-law.
"Even though you are an orphan, I accepted you wholeheartedly as my son-in-law because of Sabrina. I’ve witnessed how much my daughter loves you. Dom, can you promise me something? Please don’t make my daughter cry. Make her the happiest woman in the world. When I die, please comfort her. Don’t let her be sad for so long. Help her cope... after my death. This is my last wish. Can you do it for me, son?"
Dominique felt conflicted after hearing those words. He was still in the middle of his revenge. Who would have thought that Albert would get a terminal illness? This was not the kind of revenge he had in mind.
’If he dies now, then how will he experience the feeling of losing everything? Of losing his beloved company?’ Dominique thought to himself.
At that moment, he realized that he had deliberately delayed taking over Albert’s company because of Sabrina. Deep inside, he didn’t want to be separated from her. But now that Albert Williams was dying, he had no choice but to take action and carry out his final revenge.
"I won’t promise anything. But I will do my best," Dominique simply replied, avoiding the old man’s gaze.
Albert just smiled faintly as he squeezed Dominique’s hand. "Hmm. I know you love my daughter, so I can leave this world at ease. I believe you can protect her precious smile. As long as you’re by her side, I know Sabrina will always smile sweetly."
"It’s just a pity... I won’t be able to see my grandchildren. I can only imagine them... little ones who look like you and Sabrina."
"Dom, protect them. Your family."
Dominique clenched his teeth. ’He is asking me to protect my family. But he is the person who took them from me.’
*End of Flashback*
Dominique smiled bitterly after recalling that conversation with Albert Williams.
"Now, I know what to do. To protect Sabrina’s smile, I must pay for my sin and get lost from her life. I will fulfill that wish..." Dominique uttered.
That day, he lost everything... including his desire to be with Sabrina. He had no right to continue pestering her by asking her to fulfill his wishes. He had to stop his wishful thinking.
Dominique picked up his phone and dialed his attorney’s number.
"I want you to prepare my divorce agreement with Sabrina, as well as my last will and testament. Everything I own... must go to my son, Aaron."
The lawyer was dumbfounded for a moment. He could understand why Dominique wanted to finalize his divorce with Sabrina, but why was he suddenly asking him to prepare his last will and testament? Was he dying or something?
