Chapter 174 The Foundation and Potential of the Wuzhuang Temple Alliance, Hongjun, Yangmei's Path
Next up was the Yin-Yang Taoist.
His expression was solemn, and his hands were raised in a gesture of respect. The two energies of Yin and Yang naturally emerged, evolving into the Yin-Yang Tai Chi, flowing endlessly.
"The paths of you two fellow Daoists, one encompassing all things and the other returning to the origin, both inspire my admiration."
However, all things in heaven and earth carry yin and embrace yang, and achieve harmony through the interaction of these energies. Isolated yin cannot produce life, and solitary yang cannot grow.
This is the foundation upon which chaos was created, the principle governing the primordial world, and one of the fundamental rules governing the evolution of all great Daos.
The Yin-Yang Daoist's explanations lean more towards fundamental principles.
He pointed to the rotating Tai Chi symbol: "Excessive rigidity leads to breakage; gentleness is needed to balance it."
Excessive softness leads to weakness; strength is needed to invigorate it. The three tribes stand in a tripartite balance, seemingly in harmony, but in reality, their internal strength is excessive, losing its moderation, thus giving rise to calamity.
The order of Heaven is clear and orderly, yet without a touch of chaotic and undefined "Yin" as a buffer and source of change, the rigid uniformity of its "Yang" side would stifle the infinite opportunities for creation.
His Taiji diagram expanded, gently enveloping the four elements of the returning to the origin of the red clouds and the all-encompassing Daoist charm emanating from Zhen Yuanzi.
What's amazing is that, under the harmony and balance of Yin and Yang, Hongyun's carefree spirit seems to have gained a touch of composure, and Zhenyuanzi's gravitas has gained a touch of agility. The two do not conflict, but rather complement each other!
"My Daoist principle of Yin-Yang balance is to discern the waxing and waning of Yin and Yang amidst the myriad phenomena and laws, and to grasp the subtle point of balance."
Within this balance, conflicts can be resolved, new life can be catalyzed, and opportunities for transcendence can be found.
It's not about being adept at navigating all situations, but about grasping the key to respond to all changes.
The Yin-Yang Taoist demonstrated the ultimate application of his Great Dao in "harmony," "balance," and "transformation," a power that is almost in line with the operating principles of the "Dao" itself, moving Hongjun and Yangmei once again.
Hongjun, in particular, aimed to unite with the Dao and take control of order. The principle of balance expounded by the Dao of Yin and Yang is one of the key core elements for the stable operation of order, which deepened his understanding of the Dao of Heaven.
The three core members of the Wuzhuang Temple Alliance successively expounded their own great principles, though their paths differed.
Yet they subtly form a complementary whole: Zhen Yuanzi provides an indestructible foundation and ultimate goal, Hongyun displays spiritual transcendence upon this foundation, and Yin Yang Daoren is responsible for harmonizing the internal and external and balancing all laws.
This foundation and potential made Hongjun and Yangmei no longer dare to underestimate it.
"The paths of the three fellow Daoists all point directly to the core of Hunyuan, opening up new avenues and greatly benefiting this humble Daoist."
Hongjun spoke slowly, his tone carrying a genuine sense of solemnity. He knew it was his turn.
Hongjun did not reveal any unusual phenomena; he simply flicked the jade whisk in his hand.
In an instant, everyone seemed to feel the surrounding world tremble slightly, and an incomparably grand and clear sense of "order" descended.
"There are three thousand Great Paths, each leading to the Primordial Chaos. However, when scattered, their power weakens, and when chaotic, calamity arises."
Hongjun's voice seemed to transform into the celestial sound of the Great Dao, resounding directly within everyone's primordial spirits.
"I observe the workings of heaven and earth, the trajectories of stars, the cycle of the seasons, the reproduction of living beings, and even the entanglements of cause and effect—all of which possess an inherent 'order.' This 'order' is reason, is rule, is—the manifestation of the Dao."
He did not evolve specific scenes like Zhen Yuanzi, nor did he demonstrate the transformation of power like Hongyun. Instead, he began to explain the invisible network of rules that exists behind all things in a way that was almost like "stating the facts".
He explained how the Five Elements' generating and restraining relationships maintain the energy balance of heaven and earth, how the waxing and waning of Yin and Yang drive the changes of all things, how the cycle of cause and effect constrains the behavior of all beings, and how the dimensions of space and time structure the foundation of the primordial world.
His sermons were more like a grand and meticulous "rule-making process".
In his calm voice, the originally complex and obscure, seemingly chaotic laws of heaven and earth seemed to be gently stirred by an invisible hand, revealing a clear, orderly, and interconnected underlying structure. He did not create the rules, but rather "understood," "summarized," and "explained" them.
"However, rules are not rigid. They have their own inherent balance and vitality."
My way is to encompass these three thousand great Daos, understand the principles of their operation, and then take charge of their order, so that each of them is in its proper place and performs its proper function, so that together they can maintain the stability and evolution of this primordial world.
Those who follow this order will gain fortune and approach the Great Dao; those who defy this order will inevitably suffer backlash and cannot escape calamity. This is the path of following Heaven and the Dao, and upholding order.
Hongjun's sermons brought everyone a completely different experience.
Zhen Yuanzi felt how his own way of the earth could be better integrated into and utilized this order of heaven and earth; Hongyun understood that even his freedom needed to find space within the rules.
The Yin-Yang Daoist gained a deeper understanding of the profound principles of balance that maintain order and stability. Even Yang Mei was amazed by Hongjun's ability to integrate all things into a unified framework.
The Way of Hongjun reveals a grand vision of "overseeing the whole situation and controlling the key points," and its breadth of mind and vision are indeed worthy of its future status as the Dao Ancestor.
Finally, everyone's gaze turned to the most ethereal of the Great Immortal Yangmei.
With a slight smile and raised eyebrows, the illusory figure seemed to become clearer.
He didn't speak, but simply raised a finger and gently pointed it at the empty space in front of everyone.
There was no radiance, no sound, and no violent energy fluctuations.
But the instant his fingertips touched the ground, apart from Hongjun whose eyes merely twitched slightly, Zhen Yuanzi, Hongyun, and the Yin-Yang Daoist were all greatly shaken!
In their perception, at that point, space was no longer the familiar and stable background.
Instead, it seems to have transformed into a "living thing" that can be folded, stretched, twisted, and even created at will!
They "saw" that the space there was being infinitely compressed, forming a "point" that swallowed everything;
Then I "saw" that space being stretched infinitely, extending into unknown dimensions;
"Seeing" the space ripple like water, distorting light and perception;
Furthermore, they "saw" that behind those layers of spatial barriers, there seemed to be countless bizarre and fantastical "worlds" with vastly different laws hidden within!
Space is not nothingness, but an ocean of "nothingness" that carries all things, and also a barrier of "being" that separates all worlds.
Yang Mei's ethereal voice finally rang out, seemingly from beyond countless dimensions: "My path lies in 'emptiness.' Yet this emptiness is not nothingness, but rather an emptiness containing infinite possibilities."
He began to explain the essence of space, how to walk in the gaps between dimensions, how to perceive and utilize the curvature and folds of space, how to open up new worlds in the microscopic and cross the sea of stars in the macroscopic.
He spoke of the entanglement of space and time, the interaction with matter and energy, and the symbiotic relationship with all other laws.
"All things exist in space, are constrained by it, and also exist because of it."
However, if one can fully comprehend the wonders of space, one can find freedom within constraints and glimpse transcendence within existence. In a single thought, the ends of the earth can be within reach; in a tiny space, Mount Sumeru and the vast ocean can be contained. This is the way to spatial freedom and dimensional transcendence.
Yang Mei's sermon brought a fundamental subversion and expansion of everyone's understanding of the world. The Way of Space truly deserves to be one of the supreme laws, and Yang Mei truly deserves to be the master of the Way of Space.
His understanding and application of space has reached a level of unparalleled mastery, almost reaching the level of the "Tao" itself.
Zhen Yuanzi pondered how to integrate the wonders of space into the management of his own earth veins and the evolution of chaos;
Hongyun pondered how to expand his carefree realm through space;
The Yin-Yang Taoist deduces the distribution and balance of Yin and Yang in spatial dimensions;
Even Hongjun was pondering how the Heavenly Dao Order could better cover and coordinate these endless spatial dimensions.
Yang Mei's sermon was like opening a door to a completely new world, allowing the other four to see beyond their own paths a vaster and more mysterious realm, bringing them unparalleled inspiration and gains.
